Metpump FA-4
Description
Metpump FA-4 is a cement free alumina and silicon carbide containing pumpable material that is supplied as a multiple component system including a liquid colloidal silica binder. Metpump FA-4 exhibits outstanding high temperature properties, including hot strength, thermal shock resistance and resistance to molten metals and slags. The colloidal silica binder system permits easy placement by casting, pumping or shotcreting and requires minimal dry out time, increasing component availability.
Application
Metpump FA-4 is recommended for ferroalloy applications requiring excellent metal and slag resistance and thermal shock resistance.
Metpump FA-4-XSR
Description
Metpump FA-4-XSR is a cement free high silicon carbide and carbon containing pumpable material that is supplied as a two part system including a liquid colloidal silica binder. Metpump FA-4-XSR has excellent resistance to most metals and slags and bonds well to most existing refractory linings. Metpump FA-4-XSR has high thermal conductivity and outstanding thermal shock resistance. The colloidal silica binder system permits easy placement by casting or pumping and requires minimal dry out time, increasing component availability.
Application
Metpump FA-4-XSR is recommended for ferroalloy applications requiring excellent resistance to metals and slags.
Metpump FA-8
Description
Metpump FA-8 is a cement free high alumina and silicon carbide pumpable material that is supplied as a multiple component system including a liquid colloidal silica binder. Metpump FA-8 has excellent resistance to iron, iron slags, oxidation and thermal shock. The patented colloidal silica binder system permits easy placement by casting or pumping and requires minimal dry out, increasing component availability.
Application
Metpump FA-8 is recommended for ferroalloy applications requiring excellent resistance to metal and slags.
Metpump FA-50
Description
Metpump FA-50 is a cement free alumino silicate pumpable material that is supplied as a two part system including a liquid colloidal silica binder. Metpump FA-50 has outstanding hot and cold strengths and excellent resistance to alkali and acid attack. The colloidal silica binder system permits easy placement by casting or pumping and requires minimal dryout time, increasing vessel availability.
Application
Metpump FA-50 is recommended for ferroalloy applications requiring excellent abrasion resistance or resistance to alkali or acid attack.
Metpump FA-60
Description
Metpump FA-60 is a cement free high alumina pumpable material that is supplied as a two part system including a liquid colloidal silica binder. Metpump FA-60 has excellent hot and cold strengths and resistance to alkali and acid attack. The colloidal silica binder system permits easy placement for casting or pumping. This allows for excellent bonding to existing refractory linings and requires minimal dry out time, which increases component availability.
Application
Metpump FA-60 is recommended for ferroalloy applications that require good high temperature properties and resistance to alkali attack. Metpump FA-60 bonds well to existing substrates including monolithic refractory linings and bricks.
Metpump FA-60-SC
Description
Metpump FA-60-SC is a cement free alumino silicate shotcrete material that is supplied as a multiple component system including a unique liquid colloidal silica binder and an accelerant for rapid material setting. Metpump FA-60-SC exhibits excellent hot and cold strengths and outstanding resistance to alkali and acid attack. The colloidal silica binder system permits easy placement by casting, pumping or shotcreting and requires minimal dry out time, increasing component availability.
Application
Metpump FA-60-SC is recommended for ferroalloy applications that require superior resistance to corrosion and abrasion. This material can be used in hot or cold repairs of high alumina linings, and bonds very well to substrate materials including monolithic refractory, brick and steel.

Metpump FA-SF
Description
Metpump FA-SF is a proprietary, cement free, high alumina, insulating pumpable material that is supplied as a two part system, including a liquid colloidal silica (sol-gel) binder. Metpump FA-SF exhibits high cold and hot strengths, excellent volume stability and minimal dry out time, which decreases downtime. The sol-gel binder system provides excellent fluidity and self leveling characteristics, which allows easy placement by pumping or pouring. The easy flowing characteristics of Metpump FA-SF are achieved without dilution by excess binder liquid, which maintains material design properties, yet permits complete filling of even complex labyrinths even in confined annular spaces, without the need for vibration.
Application
Metpump FA –SF is recommended as a non–shrink, back up “fill” material, for the annulus between cast iron or copper cooling elements (staves) and the vessel steel shell, to provide insulation and to prevent process gas flow “short circuiting”.
