| Metpump HP4 |
Description |
Metpump HP4 is a proprietary, high alumina, silicon carbide containing pumpable refractory product intended for poured/pumped material placement, making precast shapes or for application by pneumatic shotcreting. Metpump HP4 is supplied as a two–component system, including a colloidal silica binder for pouring/pumping placement, or is supplied as a three component system for application by shotcreting, including the colloidal silica binder plus Metset AC-30, a special chemical accelerant utilized to induce rapid material setting. Metpump HP4 exhibits excellent adhesion characteristics when placed by pumping or pouring and develops strong bonding to virtually all undeteriorated refractory materials. Metpump HP4 exhibits excellent resistance to thermal shock and attack by molten iron and slag [For slag basicity “V” factors <1.2 (total MgO + CaO/Al2O3 + SiO2)], alkali vapor and carbon monoxide, erosion resistance and exceptional high temperature properties, including hot strength and creep resistance. The cement free, sol-gel bonding system of Metpump HP4 permits application onto even extremely hot substrates via pouring or pumping placement methods and requires minimal dryout time* for fast turnaround, which minimizes downtime and increases availability. |
Application |
Metpump HP4 is recommended for blast furnace trough
and iron and slag runner refractories, tilting runners, taphole
facings, skimmer blocks, impact pads, tuyere blocks and
other precast shapes, as new or replacement “working”
linings, wherever resistance to hot metal and slag exposure
is required. |
| Metpump HP4 SR |
Description |
Metpump HP4 SR is a proprietary, high alumina, high-silicon
carbide containing pumpable refractory product intended for
application by pouring or pumping placement or for forming
precast shapes, which is supplied as a two-component
system, including a colloidal silica binder. The patented
colloidal silica binder system provides self leveling refractory
slurry that allows rapid material placement by pumping onto
either hot or cold substrates and develops strong bonding
with no laminations if applied during multiple, independent
placements or “pours”, regardless of the time intervals
between placements and after heat up, forms very strong
bonding to virtually all undeteriorated refractory materials,
including carbonaceous refractories.
Metpump HP4 SR exhibits outstanding resistance to slag
[For slag basicity “V” factors <1.2 (total MgO + CaO/Al2O3
+ SiO2)] and excellent resistance to attack by molten iron,
thermal shock, alkali vapor and carbon monoxide, erosion
resistance and exceptional high temperature properties,
including hot strength and creep resistance. The cement free,
sol-gel bonding system of Metpump HP4 SR permits
application onto even extremely hot substrates via pouring
or pumping placement methods and requires minimal dry-out
time* for fast turnaround, which minimizes downtime and
increases availability. |
Application |
Metpump HP4 SR is recommended for blast furnace trough
and iron and slag runner refractories as new or replacement
“working” linings, especially for operations where slag attack
is severe. |
| Metpump HP4 XSR |
Description |
Metpump HP4 XSR is a proprietary, very-high silicon carbide
containing pumpable refractory product intended for application
by pouring or pumping placement, which is supplied as a two component
system, including a colloidal silica binder. The patented
colloidal silica binder system provides refractory slurry
that allows rapid material placement by pumping and that develops
strong bonding with no laminations if applied during multiple,
independent placements or “pours”, regardless of the time intervals
between placements.
Metpump HP4 XSR exhibits outstanding resistance to molten
slags [For slag basicity “V” factors <1.2 (total MgO + CaO/Al2O3 +
SiO2)], resistance to thermal shock, erosion and exceptional high
temperature properties, including hot strength and creep resistance.
The cement-free, sol-gel bonding system of Metpump HP4 XSR
permits application onto even extremely hot substrates via pouring
or pumping placement methods and requires minimal dry-out time*
for fast turnaround, which minimizes downtime and increases availability. |
Application |
Metpump HP4 XSR is recommended for blast furnace slag runners, molten copper contact applications and similar process lining applications requiring exceptional molten slag resistance. However, Metpump HP4 XSR should not be utilized where it would be continually exposed to molten iron such as in iron troughs, iron runners (launders). |
| Metpump HP5 |
Description |
Metpump HP5 is a cement free alumina and silicon carbide containing pumpable material that is supplied as a multiple component system including a unique liquid binder. Metpump HP5 exhibits outstanding high temperature properties, including hot strength, thermal shock resistance, oxidation resistance and resistance to molten iron and blast furnace slag. The patented colloidal silica binder system permits easy placement by casting, pumping or shotcreting and requires minimal dryout time, increasing component availability. |
